Cities of the Red Night

by: William S. Burroughs

Publisher: Picador (1981)

Staff Pick by comrade: rats

Gay pirates instigate a worldwide insurrection with chaos magick while a modern day private investigator follows the trail of an esoteric murder. The narrative flows in and out of comprehensibility toward a confrontation with the ultimate structures of timeless evil. If I remember correctly the climax involves Billy the Kid killing Hitler. It's great. CW: all of the normal William Burroughs content.
