Aira is a master of the novella and is particularly skillful at weaving the real and the fantastic together all at once. This latest is one of his best. Part mid-life crisis, part sci-fi (in the way that Borges is sci-fi), this is a great little story as well as a sweet meditation on life, the universe, and everything. Philosophy in small doses.
