Daine is a teenage girl with wild magic that allows her to communicate with non-human animals. Throughout the series she learns how to rely on other people and animals, and makes many close friends, humans, bats, horses, wolves, dragons, other mythical creatures known as immortals, who help her in her adventures. She fights power hungry mages & nobles, ecological destruction, and many other obstacles, is tough & compassionate, and always keeps her enemies on their toes.
